Objectives of the Project:
The Good Weave Child Friendly Communities (CFC) project has
continued in 26 communities (11 Varanasi,8 Jaipur and 7 Panipat) with the aim
to “ensure all the children up to the age of 14 years are not working and enjoy
their rights to education and development.”
● Reduce
the possibility of child labour by promoting access, enrolment, attendance,
retention. Learning and other developmental activities for children who are not
enrolled in school or below their learning level in school. The CFC targets
at-risk children in particular.
● Enhance
awareness, sensitivity and action among parents, teachers and communities to
make child labour socially and culturally unacceptable in the project
communities and develop/strengthen mechanism to sustain actions and impacts.
Major activities :
● Establishment/
continuation and operating MLC (Motivational Learning Camps) and support the
children in their learning level improvement and extra curricular activities.
● Learning
level assessment in order to support children to be in school.
● Enrolment
Drives, Attendance Tracking the children
● Support
Parents meetings and Follow up visits
● Training
and Demonstration sessions for the teachers
● Capacity
building and handholding support to SMCs
● Formation,
training of the children parliaments.
● Summer
Camps in communities, culmination events and exhibitions
● Formation
and Capacity building of the BMSS (Bal Mitra Suraksha Samiti) / Child Friendly
Protection Committees .
● Life
Skill session at community level Girls
Empowerment Groups.
● Youth
groups will be strengthened on child friendly agendas.
● IEC
activities with the parents of the children will be organized in order to
engage them in schools, promote school visits, input to teachers and
disseminate the vision of Child Friendly Communities & Awareness Generation
activities on RTE and other CFC issues.
● Meetings
and Networking with key stakeholders such as PRI, VLCPC, BLCPC and frontline
Govt. service providers to promote RTE and stop Child Labour at
village/community level .
● Capacity
building and handholding with Child Protection Bodies and PRI at Panchayat
level to plan, execute and achieve the indicators of child friendly villages
including GPDP.

Special Day Celebration such as:
Women’s Day, Girl Child Day, Day against Child Labour, World Earth Day, Anti
Tobacco Day, Yoga Day etc.
